Rep. Dingell to Go for Record 30th Term
At 85, Congressman John Dingell can't run a marathon. He's had knee problems and a hip replacement.
Still, if the marathon involves running for office, he's in. Dingell plans to file for re-election for a 30th term. In June 2013, he would become the longest serving member of Congress, surpassing the late Sen. Robert Byrd.
Some say he's too old. Dingell apparently disagrees. Columnist Jack Lessenberry gives his spin on the matter for Michigan Radio. -- A.L.
