Regina Gaines, a native Metro Detroiter, has a law degree from Michigan State University College of Law and works part time as a mediator in Oakland County, helping settle legal disputes.
But her true joy these days is operating her wine shop, House of Pure Vin, on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit, that opened in late November of last year. The back of the 3,000-square-foot store includes a room for wine tasting sessions, some 20 or so each month.
"I think it was just a great opportunity to participate in the revitalization of Detroit," says Gaines, a co-owner of the shop that sells nearly 1,0000 different types of wine, including a big assortment from Michigan.
Deadline Detroit's Allan Lengel recently stopped by the shop to chat with Gaines.
