If you think fries are just a side dish, think again.

Primanti Bros., a popular Pittsburgh sandwich chain known for stuffing sandwiches with meat, fish, eggs, cheese and french fries, will be opening two Michigan locations, according to Melody Baetens of The Detroit News.

The first shop opens at 3 p.m., next Wednesday at 23000 Eurkea Rd. in Taylor. A Novi store at 43335 Crescent Blvd, comes in September, the paper says.

Customers can score a year of free sandwiches by being one of the first 100 people to line up outside the Taylor store, though you'll probably have to wake up at 5 a.m. to do it, The News suggests.

Their signature sandwich—called the "Almost Famous" sandwich—consists of sliced Italian bread stuffed with a choice of meat, coleslaw and french fries. Other staple sandwiches include the pastrami and cheese, double egg and cheese, corned beef and cheese, bacon and cheese and classics like turkey or ham or salami with cheese.

The company has outlets in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and Florida.
