Gas stations continue to be a magnet for Detroit crimes.
The latest: Two men in black hoodies ran up to a car at a pump at a Union 76 gas station at Grand River and Evergreen around 3 a.m. Monday and opened fire, killing a man inside identified as Bobby Beverly, Robin Murdoch of Fox 2 reports. He grew up in the neighborhood.
A second man in the car fled and may have been the intended target, WXYZ says.
Detroit Police Capt. Kurt Worboys tells Fox 2 the murder wasn't random.
"It was not a robbery. There was no conversation, this was not random - they were looking for this individual," Worboys said.
Police said the men were carrying an AK-47 and a handgun.
