The Dan Gilbert Empire continues to spread its wings in downtown Detroit.

Jack Entertainment LLC,owner of Greektown Casino-Hotel in Detroit, plans a $7 million renovation of the St. Mary's School in Detroit's Greektown at 1041 St. Antoine St. to create a new headquarters for the gaming company, writes Sherri Welch of Crain's Detroit Business.

The five-story school, which is connected to the casino by a pedestrian walkway, had been vacant for more than a decade, Crain's reports

Gilbert's folks plan to move its Jack headquarters and 140 employees from One Woodward Avenue to the second through fifth floors of the building in December, Crain's reports. The first floor will be used for retail.

Jack Entertainment leases the building from the Archdiocese of Detroit.
