"Don't Breathe," a horror movie that uses Detroit as its setting, is the top earner over the weekend.
Director and co-screenwriter Fede Alvarez shot aerial footage and other exterior scenes here because deserted homes add to the spooky mood, the Free Press reported last week.
According to Box Office Mojo, "Don't Breathe," which debuted this weekend and cost less than #10 million to make, came in first with $26 million in sales at the box office. It's followed by "Suicide Squad" ($12 million) and "Kubo and the Two Strings" ($7.9 million).
