Ex-Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh is stuck behind bars for now.

Wayne County Circuit Judge Thomas Cameron on Monday denied the defendant’s motion to reduce his $150,000 cash bond as he awaits trial on charges that he had sex with an underage teenage boy, who is now a 27-year-old man, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said. Pugh, now 45, was an anchor and reporter at Fox 2 at the time.

Pugh's initial bond was set at $500,000, but that was later lowered to $150,000.

At a hearing earlier this month, the alleged victim testified that he was gay and did an unofficial internship with Pugh at the station. He said that he willingly had sex with Pugh when he was 14, 15 and 16. The age of consent for sex in Michigan is 16.

The judge at hearing concluded that Pugh exploited the teen, who was hoping the internship would help boost his career in the future.
