Washington: Detroit Street Car Plan on Track to Get Feds Backing
Getting some form of public transportation in a region that has been so resistant over the decades ain't easy.
But things do seem to be looking up again.
The Detroit News reports that Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood says Detroit's $137 million streetcar project is on track to win federal backing.
The paper said LaHood hopes to make an announcement soon.
"We're making a lot of progress," LaHood told The Detroit News.
