The latest on the injured Executive L. Brooks Patterson: He's expected to show up to work before the Nov. 6 election.

Patterson broke bones in a car crash in which he was a passenger.

"Do I think he'll be back in the office before the election? I do," Chief Deputy executive Gerald Poisson told the Oakland Press. "From all accounts, I believe he'll be in shape to make appearances at the office."

Patterson, 73, is on the Nov. 6 ballot. He's running for a sixth term against Democrat Kevin Howley of Huntington Woods.
