Brilliant move.
The Lyon Township Board of Trustees on Monday approved a proposed indoor gun range about 750 feet from the playground of Dolsen Elementary School at Grand River and Milford Roads, Kimberly Gill of WDIV reports.
Many parents oppose the shooting range because of the proximity to the school. Hundreds of residents in the northwest Oakland County community signed a petition to objecting to the target-shooting sites.
Owners of Huron Valley Guns showed the plans for their new firearms facility and talked about benefits for the neighborhood. It could open by spring.
