Zingerman's has created quite caloric footprint in Ann Arbor with its deli and bakery offerings since its inception in 1982. Now, it's going Korean.
Zingerman's is opening Miss Kim, a restaurant featuring Korean cuisine, Adrienne Roberts of Crain's Detroit Business reports. The eating spot at 415 N. 5th Avenue in Ann Arbor's Kerrytown, will open in mid-November. It's a short walk from Zingerman's at 422 Detroit St.
Zingerman's is an equal partner in the venture with Ji Hye Kim, who ran the San Street food cart in Ann Arbor for four years, Crain's reports. She lived in Korea until she was 13, worked in the hospital insurance industry after graduating from the University of Michigan, but eventually quit her job and moved back to Michigan to work at Zingerman's Deli, Roberts writes.
