Video: This Detroit Homicide Cop Delivers His Life Story Like a 1-Man Broadway Play

By day, Khary Mason investigates murders for the Detroit Police Department. He's a homicide cop.

But at the end of the day, Mason, a Detroit native who's married and the father of three children, often flips on his artistic switch. He's into photography, poetry and storytelling on stages around town. In recent months, he's published some poems in Deadline Detroit under the pen name Blinq McCurdy. 

Last month, he told his compelling, true life story at The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. He delivered the story in a masterful way like a one-man show on Broadway.
