Kid Rock

Kid Rock, aka Robert James Ritchie, often sings movingly of simple times and a rough-and-tumble past. His latest album is "Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast."

But truth be told, Ritchie, 45,  grew up in a pretty cushy environment.

His childhood home in Bruce Township in northern Macomb County is on the market for $1.29 million, Bill Laitner of the Detroit Free Press reports. His father Bill Ritchie, who owned car dealerships, is listed as the owner of the four bedroom, 5,628-square-foot home.
