Interest in Clinton Township Cryonic Lab Surges After British Teen Frozen There

November 28, 2016, 7:04 AM

The Cryonics Institute in Clinton Township, which freezes bodies with the thought one day those people will return to life, is stirring up big international interest.

The sudden surge comes after a 14-year-old British girl, identified only as J.S.,  died last month from cancer and was frozen and stored inside one of the facility's giant vats of liquid nitrogen at the facility, reports JC Reindl of the Detroit Free Press. The girl, who learned about the facility on the Internet, dreamed of being frozen and returned to life when her cancer could be cured.

The Clinton Township lab has been inundated with calls and visits by British tabloid reporters, as well as inquiries from curious would-be patients, the Freep reports.

The website says:

Imagine a world free of disease, death and aging. At the Cryonics Institute, we believe that day is inevitably coming and cryonics is presently our best chance of getting there. Our mission is to extend human lifespans by preserving the body using existing cryogenic technologies - with the goal of revival by future science. But will it work? Research makes a powerful case for cryonics. Get the facts and decide for yourself.

The Cryonics Institute provides complete human cryogenic suspension services also known as cryonics. We provide long-term storage and security for members at our cryonics facility in Clinton Township, MI. We specialize in full-body cryo-preservation of humans and pets, DNA & tissue storage as well as cryonics outreach and public education about the cutting edge science we are engaged in. Members are afforded the opportunity to be preserved at cryogenic temperatures in hopes that future medical technology may be able to someday revive and restore them to full health.
