Trump Camp Files Objection to 'Lawless' Michigan Recount

President-elect Donald Trump from the beginning called the recount effort by Green Party candidate Jill Stein "a scam."

On Thursday, his camp stepped in by filing an objection to the recount in Michigan, calling it a  "lawless, insulting request,"  sayts a joint story by the Detroit Free Press and Lansing State Journal,

Michigan's "voters should not risk having the Electoral College door knocked off its hinges all because a 1% candidate is dissatisfied with the election’s outcome," the objection stated. "Given her tiny vote total, (Green Party presidential candidate Jill) Stein does not and could not possibly allege a good faith belief that she may have won the state of Michigan."

The objection puts on hold a recount that was set to begin on Friday. The state Board of Canvassers may now rule on the objection at a  9:30 a.m. meeting Friday. If it goes forward, it is now unlikely the recount won't begin until next week, the news report said. 

Trump lawyers also said the cost for a recount was prohibitive and it can't be completed before the electoral college vote on Dec. 19.

The objection prompts a question from the executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union's state chapter:
