Willie DeQuan Lindsey, a 34-year-old Detroiter, is charged in Tuesday night's stabbing of a bus driver in northwest Detroit.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office alleges that Lindsey was riding on a Detroit Department of Transportation bus at McNichols and Greenfield around 10:30 p.m. when he demanded the 51-year-old driver, Ricky Rivers, take him to a hospital.

When the driver failed to comply, Lindsey cut the driver's left cheek with a knife, authorities charged. The driver was treated for injuries at a local hospital.

Lindsey will be arraigned Friday afternoon on charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm and felonious assault..
