Fox 2's Charlie LeDuff has often been called an entertainer and an investigative reporter mixed in one.
What he was never called was dull.
He caught many people off guard when he announced last month that he was leaving Fox 2 on Dec. 1 after being at the station for about six years. He worked at the New York Times, where he won a Pulitzer Prize, and then at the Detroit News before he came to Fox 2.
He sat down with Deadline Detroit at American Coney Island in downtown Detroit to talk about why he left Fox 2, his future plans, Detroit, the media and other subjects. This is the first of two parts. The second installment will come Monday. '
