Detroit's Nike Store Gives 8 Local Organizations $5,000 Each

The Nike Community Store on Woodward in Detroit, which opened last summer, has given eight local organizations grants of $5,000 each, including the Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program.

The total $40,000 in donations is part of the $240,000 in grants recently distributed by Nike Community Stores across the country through its Nike Community Impact Fund (NCIF).  The fund is designed to directly impact organizations that give youth early, positive experiences in sport and physical activity.  

The benefactors of the grants, besides the Boxing Gym Youth Program:

  • Farmington (Boll) Family YMCA/YMCA of Metro Detroit
  • Boys & Girls Clubs Of Southeastern Michigan
  • Detroit Police Athletic League
  • Clark Park Coalition
  • Greening Of Detroit
  • Life Builders
  • Timothy A. Williams Ministries
