There's a new way to buy cars.
Peter Karmanos Jr., former CEO of Compuware, and Michael McInerney, have officially launched a vehicle-buying service, Deliver My Ride, reports Kirk Pinho of Crain's Detroit Business.
The way it works is customers provide the service with details of the car they want. The service then submits the info anonymously to various dealerships.
"We gather every offer for you to compare each price," the website says. "You choose the offer, and then we deal with the dealer. In no time, your new car is delivered directly to you."
The service is part of the Karmanos' Birmingham-based MadDog Technology LLC.
Karmanos is a minority investor in Deadline Detroit.
