On one of the more beautiful, sunny, mild mornings of the winter, thousands marched down Woodward Avenue in Detroit on Saturday to protest the presidency of Donald Trump. Many intermittently chanted "Love Trumps Hate."

The marchers, who started at the Wayne State University campus in Midtown, headed in the direction of downtown, some carrying colorful and provocative signs like "Viva La Vagina," "Feminism Back by Popular Demand,"  "Impeach" and "Not My President."

"I came out because I wanted to express my concern that our voices are heard in the new administration," said Phyllis Shook of Grosse Pointe. "I'm worried about him. I'm hoping I'm wrong."

The march was one of many over the weekend including in Lansing and the Women's March on Washington  on Saturday that reportedly had about 500,000 women and men in attendance.
