The High Life Of A Couple Accused Of Stealing $5 Million From Detroit Pension Fund

Detroit pension lawyers are searching for the treasures supposedly purchased by George and Teresa Kastanesa of South Carolina who are accused of stealing $5 million from a Detroit pension fund, according to Robert Snell of the Detroit News.
The purchases include Rodin sculptures and jeweled Russian eggs, have disappeared, allegedly after being shipped out of the country or hidden by George and Teresa Kastanes, according to federal court records.
Snell writes Teresa Kastanes has disappeared after fleeing to a Caribbean island in March amid a search for cash missing from the failed $10 million Detroit pension fund investment.
A team of lawyers has spent months grilling relatives and associates about the couple's spending habits in hopes of finding the missing cash, according to federal court records.
