The Caucus Club in downtown Detroit, where Barbra Streisand got her start in 1961 at age 18,  and lawyers and city power brokers dined and drank, may reopen in three or four weeks, the owner tells Deadline Detroit. It has been closed since 2012.

Owner George Sboukis, who was at the restaurant on Monday at 150 W. Congress, said he hopes to complete the renovations soon and open in March, if all goes well, including the inspections.

The chop house will focus on steaks, fish and seafood, says Sboukis, who is part owner of Louis' Chop House in Chesterfield Township. It will serve fresh raw oysters, crabs and dishes like tuna tartare.

The restaurant will have entertainment including jazz, and will serve lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and dinner only on Saturday and Sunday.

Chef Rick Hussey gave a tour of the kitchen, which has all new equipment including a dry age room for meats.

The opening, which was set for last year, got delayed because of issues with the renovation.

The restaurant is inside the Penobscot Building and across the street from the London Chop House.
