A Detroit cop fatally shot a man on the city's west side Monday afternoon following a car chase, WXYZ reports.
Patrol officers saw a speeding green Pontiac with just a driver inside. It crashed when they tried to make a traffic stop, the depatrtment says, and the motorist ran off.
One officer chased him about a quarter of a mile to an abandoned house near Otsego and Webb and into an overgrown backyard, the station reports. The suspect was shot during a scuffle, police say.
