Metallica Invades Comerica Park in July

While the Detroit Tigers are playing the Los Angeles Angels in California, Metallica will invade Comerica Park.

The band, which announced a North American Tour to promote its new album "Hardwired . . . To Self-Destruct," plays in Detroit on July 12 at 6 p.m.

It's the band's first North American tour since 2009. Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat are the main support acts.

Presale tickets will be available to Legacy Fan Club members beginning on Tuesday at 9 a.m., with presale tickets available to all Met Club members beginning on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Tickets to the general public go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at tigers.com/metallica, Tickets.com and Comerica Park box office.
