German developers, Optima Aegidius Group, have just purchased four industrial buildings in Detroit's Tech Town for $3.1 million and plan to convert them into 80 lofts, with stores at ground level.

The buildings are at 5960 Second Ave (three stories), 5940 Second Ave. (one story), 5924 Second Ave. (two stories), and 463 York (two stories), reports Robin Runyan of Curbed Detroit.

The development totals more than 70,000 square feet. Plans call for a mixed-use development incorporating the existing structures, and adding over 21,000 square feet on top of the existing buildings.
