Some Detroiters get all Pavlov's dog-like when a  well-known burger chain opens downtown, salivating at the mere mention.

Actor Mark Wahlberg's hamburger chain, Wahlburgers, drew long lines outside at its Monroe Street debut last August.

Ditto for Shake Shack.

The New York-based hamburger and milkshake chain opened its first Michigan site Thursday in the First National Building at Woodward and Fort Street with waits outside stretching as long as 45 minutes, maybe more, for burgers ($4.39 to $9.69), shakes ($5.29 or $5.79) and other stuff. See the menu here.

We stopped by to snap a few photos. We also post a playful Twitter poll to see what readers think of those on line.
