The song goes: "Baby, it's cold outside."

Well, for 616,000 DTE and Consumer Power customers without power in Southeast Michigan, baby, it's cold inside.

With temperatures expected to dip into the teens Friday night, hundreds of thousands of customers were dealing without power as a result of Wednesday's vicious winds.

"DTE expects to have roughly 90% of customers restored by Sunday evening. DTE recognizes this event is difficult for customers and asks for your ongoing patience," the company said in a press release, according to Robert Allen of the Detroit Free Press.

Consumers Energy reports that the "vast majority" of customers without power should have service restored by midnight Saturday.

Meanwhile, the utilities insist no one is getting preferential treatment.
