Being a reporter can be dangerous.

Kim Russell of WXYZ says she and cameraman Jeremy Johnson came under fire in Detroit last week while trying to find relatives of Raymond Durham, the man charged with shooting and wounding two Detroit Police officers on Detroit's west side, reports Steve Neavling of Motor City Muckraker.

Durham is also expected to be charged in the slaying of Wayne State University campus officer Collin Rose.

Russell said shots rang out while she and Johnson approached the relatives' home on Willette Street near Livernois and McGraw avenues Thursday, a day after Durham was arrested. “We realized the gunshots were really close,” the broadcaster adds.

No one was injured and Detroit Police are aware of the incident.
