Michigan's Kid Rock is an easy target for satire.

On "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," the comic Wednesday mocked Kid Rock's commercial promoting his American Badass Grill.

Colbert said how much he loves Kid Rock "partly because he's one of America's best singer song yellers. Also cause he's never afraid to make bold patriotic gestures. For instance, Kid just launched his own made in the USA American Badass Grill company. I believe that is the grill that Seal Team Six used to eat bin Laden."

Colbert goes on to say that Kid Rock has been mentioned as a candidate for U.S. Senate in Michigan in 2018 and the grill commercials are essentially campaign ads.

In response to the ads, Colbert produces a skit using a fictional character,  'Shrieken Joe," who he describes as Kid Rock's potential opponent in the race. Shrieken Joe wears a t-shirt with the slogan,"Kiss My Lower Peninsula!"
