Greed Sends Credit Union Executive to Prison After Stealing $18.6 Million

Think of what you could do with $18.6 million.

Then think of what you'll do when you steal those kind of funds. Think prison.

Michael LaJoice, 38, a former executive with the Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union, draws 11 years in prison for embezzling those funds, reports Robert Snell of The Detroit News.

U.S. District Judge Gershwin Drain in Detroit showed little sympathy, even though LaJoice begged for leniency Thursday.

“This offense represents pure greed,” Drain said.  “I don’t see how I can be lenient with you.
