Bob Probert, a scrappy Detroit Red Wings player known as an enforcer on the ice, is memorialized at The Joe forever.
WXYZ sports anchor Brad Galli posts on Facebook [April 9]:
Bob Probert's family spread his ashes inside the Red Wings penalty box at Joe Louis Arena tonight, multiple players told me.
A video online shows widow Danni Probert spreading ashes in the penalty box at the Joe. The video was shot by Wings fan Trevor Black, who saw the Wings win 4-1.
A Detroiter had a similar private remembrance, she tweets to us:
I also took my Dads ashes, he always loved Probert ?? https://t.co/zXz33xu2nD
