Bad hair days are what we would certainly call a first world problem. Nonetheless, for some it's a problem.

Here comes a solution. Detroit, like other big cities, is finally getting a couple blow dry bars downtown this summer.

Stephanie Steinberg of The Detroit News writes:

In major cities like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, it’s easy for women to slide into a blow-dry bar with hair a frizzy mess and leave an hour later with glamorous locks — ready to hit any important meeting or event...

While a few hair salons exist downtown, none are blow-dry bars, where women can go solely to get their hair blown out. No cuts. No coloring. Just hair washing and blow-drying.

One shop, Blo Blow Dry Bar will operate at 1500 Washington Blvd., sharing space with the current occupant, The Last Tangle Hair Salon.

The second, Detroit Blows, is planned for this summer on Library Street at street level of the Z Garage.
