Red Smoke Barbeque in Greektown

Tasso Teftsis, co-owner of Red Smoke Barbeque and Astoria Bakery in Greektown and Astoria Bakery on Main Street in Royal Oak, is developing a $3.8 million building on Main Street in Royal Oak that will include a Red Smoke Barbeque, The Daily Tribune reports.

The restaurant will anchor the two-story mixed used building.

Offices spaces are planned for the second floor. There will be two retail spaces on the first level.

The building sits on former Citizens Bank at 218 S. Main Street. The old bank building was vacant for about a decade before it was demolished last year, writes the Trib's Mike McConnell.

Ground breaking is expected in the fall of 2018, and construction will take about 10 months, Teftsis tells the paper.
