It may be one of the biggest private home sales in Detroit this year, writes Robin Runyan of Curbed Detroit.

She refers to the Charles T. Fisher Mansion at 670 W. Boston Blvd. in Detroit's Boston-Edison neighborhood that sold on Friday for $1.25 million.

The 15,623-square-foot building has 14 bedrooms and nine-full bathrooms, six half baths.

Obviously, housing in the neighborhood isn't cheap. On the same block, at 918 W. Boston Blvd., a home is selling for $1,595,000.

The real estate site Estately describes the home:

Live in the home of one of Detroit's most famous automotive families, Charles T. Fisher ( Body by Fisher) Famed architect, George D. Mason built this mansion in 1924. This Neo-Tudor is filled with exquisite details. Despite its enormous size of 15,000 plus sq ft. this manor has a warmth about it.

The home boasts a "forest" of oak and walnut, finely carved paneling throughout the 1st floor with wonderful plaster ornamentation, carved Italian marble, limestone & fine tiles, with 14 bedrooms, 9 full baths, 6 half baths, "Estey" Residential organ with hundreds of pipes, a ballroom, pub, prayer chapel, 6 fireplaces and a billiard room. This manse will delight on all 4 levels of living & entertaining spaces. . . . A carriage house with a 2-bedroom apt. sits atop a 4-car garage.

Fisher died in 1963 at 83. He and his wife Sarah had five children.
