No need to buy a QLine streetcar ticket until May 22, a week from Monday.

Detroit's streetcar line, launched Friday with three days of free rides, extends the no-cost promotion through this coming week and next weekend, spokesman Dan Lijanqa tells Crain's Detroit Business.

"Many riders experiencing a streetcar for the first time are riding from end to end and back to check out the full ride," Lijana said. "We expect that riders will begin to circulate more, getting on and off throughout the route over the next few days."

Starting 6 a.m. May 22, riders will pay $1.50 per three-hour pass or $3 for an all-day pass, $30 for a month or $285 for a yearlong pass.
