"Detroit in Flux" is a three-minute-plus film that reflects on local changes in the last century.

Director Padrick Rich and producer Paul Villanova recreate shots of well-known sites and the people of Detroit, transposing space and cultural events. It's part of a "Cities in Flux" series in which other directors focus on Boston, New York and Los Angeles.

"The goal of the project is to look at the visual change in major cities over time, and to ask the viewer how much has changed and how much has remained the same," Villanova explains at its YouTube channel.

Local scenes include Belle Isle, the Packard Automotive Plant, the Detroit Institute of Art, Greektown, the Ambassador Bridge, Hamtramck, Midtown, Dequindre Cut, Eastern Market and Michigan Central Station.
