The optics are horrid:  Eat waffles, then arrest kitchen workers.

At least five Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents Wednesday ate breakfast around 11:30 a.m.at Sava's Restaurant at 216 S. State in Ann Arbor, then went into the cooking area and took three people into custody who couldn't show documents letting them work in the U.S, reports Jessica Haynes of MLive. The agents were looking for a worker who wasn't on duty.

Two of the three people were released later in the day. The federal agency says in a statement posted by WXYZ:

"Sergio Cardenas Rubio and Jesus Ortiz Hernandez unlawfully entered the United States without inspection at an unknown date and location. Mohamed Souman lawfully entered the country, but did not depart in accordance with the terms of his status."

"It's scary and everyone is shaken up by it.," restaurant owner Sava Lelcaj-Farah tells Fox 2 Detroit, adding that the business checks potential employees to assure they can work legally.
