Comic Sam Richardson, co-star of Comedy Central's "Detroiters," talks about growing up in Detroit and Ghana during his appearance Wednesday night on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

Richardson, who performed at "Second City" in Detroit and Chicago, says:

"I grew up between Detroit and Ghana. My mother's from Ghana. My father's from Detroit. I used to go back and forth. I used to spend summers in Ghana."

"I was kind of like a man out of place in both worlds," he said.

He said people in Detroit would make fun of him for the way he said certain words he would use in Ghana. And in Ghana, they would make fun of him for saying certain things the American way.

He starts talking about Detroit at the 5:12 mark of the video below.
