A 19-month-old girl died Wednesday night after she was found in a canal directly behind the family home in Harrison Township, Fox 2 reports.
Macomb County Sheriff deputies responded to the 38000 block of Mallast in Harrison Township around 7:15 p.m. where a baby wasn't breathing.
CPR was attempted on the baby, Chloe Lawson, who was eventually pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
The family was barbecuing when they noticed the girl was missing, Fox 2 reports. The family started a search and found her in the canal.
