The word "stan" has been added to the Oxford Dictionary, thanks to rapper Eminem.

"An overzealous or obsessive fan of a particular celebrity," is how the dictionary defines it.

In 2000, Eminem released the song "Stan," basing it on an obsessed fan who committed suicide after Eminem wouldn't respond to him.

The word "stan" continued to get bigger and bigger over the years with a more positive association, and is now used by fan-bases to depict people who are extremely dedicated to their beloved musician or celebrity, according to E News.
