Video: Song About Telway Hamburgers Resurfaces After Owner's Death

Local musician Bogdon Vasquaf has such fond lifetime memories of  Telway's hamburgers on Michigan Avenue in Detroit that he penned a song about it several years ago.

Metro Times' Tom Perkins spoke to Vasquaf, 59,  after owner Earl Owens, 87, of Commerce Township, died on Sunday.

Vasquaf tells Metro Times he remembers as a kid that he and his father would cut coupons out of the weekly TV Guide for 10 sliders for $1; skipping school to get sliders and taking his wife-to-be on one of their first dates to "a little placed called Telway,"  There's second location in Madison Heights. 

Perkins writes: 

"We felt now is a good time to revisit the song, which Vasquaf recently reshared on Youtube, and he calls a tribute to Owens.
