Corny?  Yes.  But cute.

L.L. Bean will bring its Bootmobile to the Detroit River Days festivities on the river near the Renaissance Center, Friday through Sunday,  from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

L.L. Bean says that its there "to support the Detroit  Riverfront Conservancy’s mission to bring public access to a beautiful resource."

The Bootmobile will have giveaways and coupons.

The company has two Bootmobiles, but doesn't specify which one will be coming to Detroit.

Here's some details about the Bootmobiles:

  • Bootmobile 1 - Built on a Ford F250 frame, steel and fiberglass construction.
  • Bootmobile 2 - Built on a GMC Sierra 2500 HD chassis frame, aluminum and fiberglass construction.

The shoelaces are made of 12-strand braided mooring rope, capable of towing 106,000 pounds, the company says.
