Kids of yesteryear certainly remember "Soupy Sales," a comedian, actor and radio/television personality. His local and network children's TV, "Lunch with Soupy," ran from 1953-66. The show featured a lot sketches and pranks, which often included Soupy getting hit in the face with a pie. Soupy, aka Milton Supman, went on to do other shows including one in the 1980s in New York. He died in 2009 at age 83.

Now, his former three-bedroom northwest Detroit home at 19373 Renfrew Rd. in Sherwood Forest Manor is for sale at $499,900, Michelle Goldchain writes at Curbed Detroit.

The listing by Realtor Christine Winans says:

Once the estate of the iconic Soupy Sales (Google him!), this extraordinary Sherwood Forest Manor Tudor has been beautifully updated. Most of the original woodwork, flooring, light fixtures and finishes remain throughout the house.

The enormous kitchen with gorgeous granite, huge center island and professional appliances, and the formal dining have been combined to create a fabulous social dining space. Of course, there’s a large formal living room with centerpiece fireplace and library/office.

The second floor has a just-completed 4-room master bedroom suite that includes a 20x18 bedroom, all-new master bath with footed tub, dressing room, and shower room.

Surprise, there’s a 2nd floor laundry room, too. Both of the other bedrooms on the 2nd floor each have their own private bath. The 3rd floor is ready-to-be finished. The 3 season sunroom opens to the stone patio and professionally landscaped backyard. Newer boiler (2013), new roof (2016), and just-installed central air.
