Director Kathryn Bigelow's film "Detroit," a story about the Detroit 1967 Riot and the police brutality and murder at the Algiers Motel, continued to disappoint at the box office.

In its second weekend of a nationwide release, the film grossed an anemic $3 million, dropping it to #13 in the rankings for film revenue, according to Box Office Mojo.

In its opening weekend, it took in $7.2 million, ranking it #8.

Reviews of the $34-million movie were mixed.

Over the weekend, the horror film "Annabelle: Creation" topped all the movies, grossing $35 million.
