Pizza and Cupcake Shops Close in Midtown

August 14, 2017, 11:13 PM by  Allan Lengel

In the past several years we've seen many new restaurants open downtown and in Midtown. There are bound to be casualties.

The latest: Nom Nom’s Cupcake Factory and Detroit Pizza Company, neighbors on Woodward Avenue in Midtown's Park Shelton building, shut last Thursday. They were both operated by La Weir, Inc.

A sign on the pizza shop's door says:

ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END:

Valued Customers and Friends, it has been an immense pleasure and honor to be able to serve you, the people of Midtown Detroit for the last 3 years! Unfortunately, The Detroit Pizza Company and Nom Nom's Cupcake Factory are permanently CLOSED, effective immediately. We wish we had time to say goodbye, but it just wasn't possible. Thank You for all of the memories!

Thank You.

Nom Nom's Cupcake Factory posts this on Facebook in announcing the closing of both its Westland and Midtown shops:

All Good Things Must Come To An End:

Valued Customers and Friends, NomNom’s Cupcake Factory is evolving. Unfortunately, part of that evolution includes the closing of our two retail locations, effective today. We want to thank all of you for over 6 years of your business and support!!!

We couldn’t have made it this far without all of you.

We are thrilled to be taking steps forward to concentrate on corporate accounts and custom orders. We will be completing all standing orders while we await the move to our new kitchens. As soon as that location is running, we will be able to resume taking new special orders. Our menu, including our massive selection of cupcake flavors, pies, cheesecakes, pastries, and much more will be available by special order at that time. Stay tuned for more news on that front.
Again, THANK YOU
