Detroit News' Nolan Finley Adds Radio Show

Nolan Finley, a veteran journalist at The Detroit News, who heads the conservative editorial page, is the latest person to land a radio gig on 910 AM Superstation in Southfield.

Beginning Sept. 5, right after Labor Day, he hosts "The Nolan Finley Show" at 7-9 a.m. weekdays. His arrtival cuts into the tyime of political consultant Steve Hood, Tyler Clifford of Crain's Detroit Business. Hood, who will now go from the current three-hour format to 6-7 a.m., station spokesman Mort Meisner  told Crain's.

"I see it as an extension of the work I'm already doing at The News, it will be a news and opinion show," Finley, 62, said. "It's not going to be a conservative talk show in the traditional sense of what we've come to think of as conservative talk. We are going to talk to the newsmakers in town. I'll offer my opinion on various issues, but I hope that it will be interactive and we will spend a lot of time talking to folks about local and national topics."

Others to recently land shows include Steve Neavling, founder of Motor City Muckraker. He currently hosts Sunday's 1-3 p.m. On Sept. 5, he'll change to 11 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday.
