Feds Continue To Drain the Swamp; Another Macomb County-Related Indictment

September 13, 2017, 2:14 PM by  Allan Lengel

A federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted  the owner of an engineering firm, Fazullah Khan, 56, of Troy, on four counts of bribery involving Washington Township officials in Macomb County who were working with the FBI.

It's just the latest in a series of indictments involving public officials in Macomb County and business owners.

An indictment alleges that in 2014, Khan bribed public officials of Washington Township with $11,000 in cash, a free fishing trip and a secret financial interest in a property development deal, authorities said.

Unbeknownst to Khan, the township officials were working with the FBI.

Each of the four bribery charges carries a maximum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
