A lot is happening around town this beautiful weekend with summer-like weather. We even toss in an interesting Flint Institute of Arts event.

Friday

Seun Kuti + Egypt 80:  The youngest son of legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti was 14 when he succeeded his deceased parent in 1997 as lead singer of Egypt 80. 8 p.m. El Club, 4114 Vernor Highway, Detroit.  $20.

Pistons & Plates: Reggie Jackson and teammates host his second annual Pistons & Plates fundfraiser. Proceeds go to Jackson's DETermined to Assist Foundation, which serves low-income children in Detroit. Cocktail reception, dinner, auction and a chance to mingle with players.  6:30 p.m. Westin Book Cadillac Detroit, 1114 Washington Blvd., Detroit. $350. 

Saturday

Art on Tap: 10th annual Flint event runs from 6-9 p.m., featuring 100+ craft beers, food, music by the Genesee Ramblers and glassblowing demonstrations. $35 in advance, $40 at the door. Flint Instutute of Arts, 1120 East Kearsley St., Flint. Information.

Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band: They're back at The Palace of Auburn Hills for a 17th appearance -- their last there. Nancy Wilson of Heart opens the 8 p.m. show. $83 and up (way up).

Murals in the Market afterparty: Dancing from 10 p.m.-4 a.m. 21 and over. $20. Stroh's Warehouse, 1000 Maple St., Detroit. $20.

Friday and Saturday

Dlectricy: Light-based art brightens Midtown’s Woodward Corridor from 7 p.m. to midnight. Free.

Friday-Sunday

Funky Ferndale Art Fair: The fair describes itself as being "twice as funky as the average fine art fair." Over 100 juried artists showcase work with an edge. Friday, 3-7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. -7 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Free.

Parktoberfest: Third annual Campus Martius Park event, noon to midnight, has a decorated tent with over 25 craft beers from local breweries, plus German brews. Also: sausages, pretzels, other food; music (Spin Doctors at 9-11 p.m. Friday), pumpkin carving; competitions. Free.

Noir City Detroit Film Festival: Second annual event at Redford Theater, 17360 in Detroiit, has three days of crime and detective films hosted by Eddie Muller of San Francisco-based, a Turner Classic Movie host.  $10-$25. Schedules and tickets here.

Motor City Comedy Festival: Held at different venues in Detroit. Each day offers a headliner and comedians from across the country. Friday, 6 p.m.-midnight; Saturday, 2 p.m.-midnight; Sunday, 5 p.m.-midnight. $20-$75.
