Why is the FBI Snooping Around Warren City Hall?
When the FBI starts snooping around city hall, it can never be good news.
WDIV reports that the FBI, armed with subpoenas, "headed straight to Warren Mayor Jim Fout's office" a little while back.
The station, citing "sources close to the investigation", reports that the feds are are looking at several issues including the disappearance of $175,000 worth of salt from the public works department, expensive tires for the city's fleet of garbage trucks and Warren's contract with the Detroit Incinerator.
Specifically, the station said the FBI is focusing on Gust Ghanam, the city's sanitation director, who was appointed by Fouts.
The Detroit Free Press reports that Mayor Fouts on Tuesday night released a copy of a federal grand jury subpoena for all records of a 2008 purchase of garbage trucks, and for other records related Ghanum.
