Six local acts take turns on stage Saturday at the Park Bar for its last night of music, drinks and revelry.

"We are having one last show to celebrate," a Facebook post says. "We want to thank all our loyal customers, employees and friends for your support over the last 11 years."
The "last call" blowout at the centrally located bar, 2040 Park Ave. at Elizabeth Street, runs from 8 p.m. until closing time and has a $10 cover charge. Music starts at 9:30 p.m.
These performers are scheduled at the upstairs club:

- Alison Lewis & The String of Ponies
- Pat V & The Detroit 3
- Ty Stone
- Matt Dmits
- Tino Gross

The Park Bar soon will be owned by its next-door neighbor, Cliff Bell's jazz club.
Melody Baetens has the scoop at The Detroit News, where she reports the deal between two risk-takers who each opened on Park Avenue in 2006 in a decidedly different era.
The journalist, who's also a bar co-owner and operator (Small's in Hamtramck), writes:
Owner Jerry Belanger told The Detroit News Thursday [Nov. 16] that he's sold the business to Paul Howard, owner of neighboring jazz club Cliff Bell's. Belanger has leased Cliff Bell's to Howard since both bars opened in 2006.
"It's changing hands, not so much as it's closing," said Belanger. "We're very good friends and he is a great owner. I'm really grateful that he was able to make the acquisition of the building because he's such a good guy and he's an independent.
"He's a guy who cut his teeth in this town for many years, came with me into this endeavor when nobody was down here . . . downtown when there were no streetlights."
The two-story pub, which has live music and serves food, is near the ballpark, football stadium, Fox Theatre and Fillmore.
At the Detroit Free Press, food writer Mark Kurlyandchik salutes the bar as "a pioneering hotspot in downtown Detroit's long-simmering revival." He gives this context:
Years before billionaire businessman Dan Gilbert began his buying spree and transformation of downtown, the Park Bar became a craft beer hotspot before and after sports games and other entertainment events in the Foxtown district.
